Degrees Are Simply Writing on Paper
With newspapers recently typing up articles about how foreign workers are preferred by three of the top four bosses in the UK, debate amongst citizens has sparked about whether or not it is worth the time or effort for students studying for degrees. The quartet of bosses claim that school leavers and university graduates lack basic employability skills required for them to fill available positions at their firms. Including punctuality, basic written engish and professional behaviour. So is it worth the time and money for going to university, to obtain this degree which is being branded as simply ‘writing on paper’? Or do we need to bring back the lost culture of hard work and discipline learned from part time jobs during school years. When asked what other skills candidates are lacking the four bosses in a joint statement said ‘There are too many to list on a newspaper column’.
